Lawsuit links Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh and Michigan officials to Matt Weiss hacking case

Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh has been added as a defendant in a lawsuit involving his former assistant at Michigan, Matt Weiss. The suit claims Harbaugh and other university officials ignored Weiss hacking sensitive information before the Wolverines’ College Football Playoff appearance in December 2022. The lawsuit, filed by 11 women, includes allegations that the university allowed Weiss to coach in the CFP semifinal despite knowing about his illegal activities. Weiss was later fired in January 2023 and indicted on various charges related to unauthorized computer access. The lawsuit also claims he targeted female college athletes along with others. Weiss joined Michigan’s staff in 2021 under Harbaugh’s leadership.
