Pat McAfee Talks ‘MNF’ Speculation as Troy Aikman’s ESPN Future Remains Uncertain
Pat McAfee has denied rumors linking him as a potential replacement for Troy Aikman on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” On his talk show, he stated there has been no discussion about joining Joe Buck in the booth. Aikman, whose contract negotiations with ESPN have caused tensions, indicated that 2026 might be his last season with the network. He addressed the situation in an interview, emphasizing that he will finish the current season and then become a free agent. Meanwhile, Buck has secured a six-year, $108M contract extension with ESPN.
