Dolphins pick British tight end Traore in NFL Draft

Dolphins Select British Tight End Traore in NFL Draft

British tight end Seydou Traore became the first NFL Academy graduate drafted, picked by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round (180th overall). At 23, he has French-Algerian and Ivorian heritage and played for the London Warriors before joining the NFL Academy in 2019. After five years of college football, he caught 131 passes for 1,482 yards and 10 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Nigerian Uar Bernard was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles (251st overall) despite having never played organised football; his athleticism impressed scouts during the NFL’s International Player Pathway. Both represent growing opportunities for international talent in the NFL.
