Santa Rosa Junior College loses to No. 4 state-ranked Modesto in their first home game

Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs lost their home opener against Modesto, despite their efforts to come back from a 17-point deficit. SRJC quarterback Jacob Porteous and receiver Jovonn Scott connected for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to cut the lead, but Modesto managed to hold on for the win. The Bear Cubs showed resilience with 383 total yards of offense and 21 first downs. Porteous had a solid performance with 317 passing yards, while Eli Evans and Zion Williams also contributed on offense. The defense was led by Ivan Robledo with 11 tackles. SRJC will play Monterey Peninsula in their next game.
