Chiefs’ Out-of-work Bieniemy Makes Playoff Appearance
Eric Bieniemy, former offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, still had an impact on the team’s run to the Super Bowl. He visited the Chiefs before the AFC Championship Game, sitting in on meetings and talking to players like Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes stated that Bieniemy’s energy and mentality were appreciated. Bieniemy left the Chiefs last year to join the Washington Commanders in hopes of becoming a head coach. However, he was fired after just one season. Chiefs coach Andy Reid expressed optimism about Bieniemy’s coaching future, but didn’t sound hopeful about him returning to the Chiefs.
