Super Bowl LIX Performer Convicted of Resisting Arrest
On May 11, 2026, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, was found guilty of resisting arrest following his disruption of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance on February 9, 2025. Nantambu ran across the field waving a flag that stated “Sudan and Free Gaza,” deviating from his assigned role. Though initially authorized on the field, he non-complied with police commands. He later surrendered and was charged with resisting an officer and disturbing the peace. A judge found him guilty of the former; he faces sentencing on June 1, potentially incurring a fine or jail time. Additionally, he has a lifetime NFL ban.
