Klint Kubiak Discusses Decision on Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza for Jets Game
After the Las Vegas Raiders’ 35-21 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Klint Kubiak considered benching quarterback Kirk Cousins for rookie Fernando Mendoza. However, Kubiak confirmed Cousins will remain the starter for their upcoming game against the New York Jets, stating there is “no controversy” and that Cousins is playing at a high level, despite the team’s four-game losing streak. Kubiak highlighted Cousins’ impressive stats, including leading the league with 16 touchdown passes. While Mendoza will play eventually, Kubiak emphasized the importance of prioritizing winning now. The Raiders are 3-4, still in playoff contention.
