49ers Withstand Commanders’ Second-Half Surge to Improve to 6-0
In a closely contested game, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 23-17 after leading by 20 points. The turning point came when 49ers receiver Mike Evans left the field due to an Achilles injury, disrupting San Francisco’s momentum. Quarterback Brock Purdy, despite the challenges, completed 21 of 29 passes for 264 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels rallied his team with two second-half touchdown passes, completing 29 of 40 attempts for 300 yards. The 49ers face mounting injury concerns with key receivers sidelined, while the Commanders aim to build on their second-half performance.
