Jayden Daniels Accepts Responsibility for Commanders’ Humiliating Mistake Against Giants: ‘It Was a Failure’
The Washington Commanders faced a significant embarrassment during their 2026 NFL season, managing a 27-27 tie against the New York Giants after running the clock out in overtime while in field goal range. With no timeouts and just eight seconds left, quarterback Jayden Daniels dove at the Giants’ 24-yard line but failed to spike the ball in time. Daniels admitted his responsibility for the situation, taking ownership despite head coach Dan Quinn receiving much of the blame. Critics questioned the team’s lack of urgency, highlighting that Daniels, a seasoned player, should have known better in critical moments.
