Lions’ Campbell Remains Tight-Lipped on Dismissing DC Sheppard Following Loss
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell took responsibility for a disappointing defensive performance in a 32-26 loss to the Carolina Panthers, where the defense allowed over 30 points for the third time in four games. The Lions’ defense currently gives up 31.8 points per game, the highest in the NFL. Campbell expressed confidence in second-year defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard while emphasizing the need for improvement from players. Key injuries, particularly in the secondary, have exacerbated issues. Players, including cornerback D.J. Reed and linebacker Jack Campbell, acknowledged personal responsibility and expressed determination to improve before facing the Arizona Cardinals.
