Steelers to Trade Joey Porter Jr. to Cowboys for 2028 Second-Round Pick and 2027 Sixth-Round Pick
Joey Porter Jr. has been traded from the Steelers to the Cowboys for a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick. The move comes amid injuries in the Cowboys’ secondary. Porter’s tenure with the Steelers was tumultuous; he declined a $27 million contract for 2026 and was inactive for the first three games due to a back injury. The Steelers now pivot to other cornerbacks like Jalen Ramsey and rookie Daylen Everette. Porter, a Pittsburgh native and son of former Steelers star Joey Porter, was drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
