Chiefs Report: Eric Bieniemy’s Wife, Mia, Out of ICU and “Making Progress” After Shooting Incident

The Kansas City Chiefs held their first full training camp workout without offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who is attending to his family after the shooting of his wife, Mia Bieniemy, by their son, Elijah. Mia has been released from the ICU, but Eric’s return is uncertain. Elijah, 27, has been arrested and faces multiple charges. Eric Bieniemy, who had successful stints with the Chiefs before moving to the Washington Commanders, is adapting to changes in the playbook during his absence. In the meantime, pass game coordinator Joe Bleymaier has taken on many of his responsibilities.
