Penix Returns to the Field for Falcons’ Offseason Throwing Drills
Marc Raimondi, who began covering the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, has been with ESPN since 2019, previously reporting on combat sports and professional wrestling. He authored the book “Say Hello to the Bad Guys,” published in 2025. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr., six months post-ACL surgery, is participating in the Falcons’ offseason program, throwing to wide receiver Drake London. Penix, who has torn three ACLs, aims to be ready for Week 1. The Falcons also signed Tua Tagovailoa for a one-year deal, creating a quarterback competition once Penix is fully healthy. Penix has had 12 starts and 2,757 passing yards in two seasons.
