Chiefs QB Minshew avoids ACL tear, sources say

Sources say Chiefs’ Minshew likely did not suffer ACL tear

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Gardner Minshew did not tear his ACL as initially feared after injuring his left knee in a game against the Titans. Minshew was placed on injured reserve, but tests showed his ACL remains intact. The Chiefs signed Shane Buechele to replenish their quarterback room, as they are already without Patrick Mahomes for the rest of the season. Minshew had been filling in for Mahomes, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 15. Chris Oladokun replaced Minshew in Sunday’s game, which resulted in a loss for the Chiefs. This season will mark the first time under head coach Andy Reid that the team will finish with a losing record.
