Expected Proposal of Additional Changes to NFL Kickoff Rule by Competition Committee
The NFL’s kickoff rule change in its first year increased the number of kickoff returns and reduced the concussion rate. Now, the league is considering moving touchbacks from the 30-yard line to the 35-yard line to further encourage kickoff returns.
