Rams waive Kupp after unsuccessful attempt to trade star WR

Kupp expressed disappointment at the decision, thanking the Rams for eight years and looking forward to the future. The Rams will carry a cap hit of $29.78 million until June, saving $15 million next season with Kupp’s release. Kupp’s best season was in 2021, leading the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns and winning the Super Bowl MVP. He signed a $80.1 million extension after that season but has struggled with injuries since then.
