Roger Goodell proposes the idea of hosting Super Bowl outside of the US through International NFL expansion
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated that while there are no current plans to hold a Super Bowl outside of the United States, one could be coming in the future if the NFL expands into international territory. Goodell expressed interest in expanding the NFL’s international footprint to 16 games and potentially placing a franchise outside of the U.S. He highlighted the success of NFL games played in cities such as London, Germany, Mexico, and São Paulo in engaging new fans. Goodell also discussed the potential for expanding to 16 international games per season, which would require the season to be expanded from 17 to 18 games with agreement from the NFLPA.
