– Kansas City Chiefs DE BJ Thompson in stable condition following medical emergency
The Kansas City Chiefs canceled practice after defensive end BJ Thompson suffered a seizure and went into cardiac arrest during a team meeting. Thompson, 25, was in stable condition by midday Thursday. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2023 and played for Stephen F. Austin and Baylor in college. Thompson played one game as a rookie for the Chiefs last year. The team plans to resume practice on Friday and will have mandatory minicamp from June 11-13. Other NFL teams have already begun mandatory minicamp, but the Chiefs are still in the voluntary portion of their offseason program.
