Titans coach Brian Callahan ‘really excited’ about what Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears can bring as pass-catchers

Titans coach Brian Callahan enthusiastic about potential of Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears as pass-catching threats

The Tennessee Titans have traditionally been a run-focused team, but new head coach Brian Callahan is looking to change that by emphasizing a more pass-heavy offense. Callahan plans to utilize running backs Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard in the passing game to create mismatches with linebackers. Both running backs have shown promise in the passing game, with Pollard having been targeted on at least 20% of his routes in each of his previous four seasons in Dallas. Offensive coordinator Nick Holz believes that having interchangeable running backs with strong receiving skills will make the Titans’ offense less predictable and more versatile.
