Report: San Francisco 49ers sign ex-Titans defensive lineman Brown following successful minicamp tryout
The 49ers have signed former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Shakel Brown after a successful minicamp tryout. Brown, who was waived by the Titans last week, spent his rookie season on injured reserve after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. San Francisco had been interested in the 25-year-old for over a year and he looked impressive during minicamp. In college, Brown made 29 appearances at Troy University, recording 58 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. He is expected to compete for a final roster spot with the 49ers following the team’s decision to waive defensive lineman Spencer Waege.
