Report: Carolina Panthers sign outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney to a 2-year contract
Three-time Pro Bowl edge defender Jadeveon Clowney is leaving the Baltimore Ravens to sign a two-year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. Clowney, who wanted to be closer to his family, expressed excitement about being just 30 minutes from home. Despite interest from the Ravens and New York Jets, Clowney’s wife stated that the Panthers pursued him the hardest. His departure from the Ravens leaves them with a gap in veteran edge defenders. Clowney had a successful season with the Ravens, recording 9.5 sacks. His addition to the Panthers helps fill the void left by trading edge rusher Brian Burns.
