Jayden Daniels, former LSU quarterback and current Washington Commanders star, has instructed LSU to cease using his name, image, and likeness (NIL) following LSU cornerback DJ Pickett’s recent decision to wear Daniels’ former number, No. 5. Daniels’ family expressed disappointment over LSU’s actions, believing his legacy should have been respected. Despite the number not being retired, Daniels felt it should be honored in recognition of his Heisman-winning season. Daniels had a stellar career at LSU before being drafted second overall by the Commanders, where he earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. LSU is now under new coach Lane Kiffin.
