Chiefs NFL draft grades: Middling grades for Brett Veach’s 2026 class

Chiefs NFL Draft Review: Average Ratings for Brett Veach’s 2026 Class

In 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs experienced their worst season under Andy Reid, finishing 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. As a result, they secured a top-10 draft pick for the first time since 2017, trading up from No. 9 to select LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane at No. 6 and defensive tackle Peter Woods at No. 29 in the 2026 NFL Draft. Analysts gave the Chiefs a draft grade of B-, noting that while they fortified their defense, they didn’t sufficiently bolster support for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who ended the prior season injured.
