Bridgewater suspended from HS coaching job

Bridgewater suspended from high school coaching position

Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been suspended from his position as a high school football coach in Miami for allegedly providing impermissible benefits to his players. Bridgewater confirmed his suspension on Facebook but remains committed to his alma mater, Miami Northwestern. He led the team to a state championship in 2024. Bridgewater returned to the NFL as a backup with the Detroit Lions in December but did not play in any regular-season games. He posted on Facebook that he paid for expenses for his players and self-reported them to the school. The Florida High School Athletic Association is investigating the situation. Bridgewater played in the NFL from 2014-24 and made the Pro Bowl in 2015.
