Chiefs Choose Not to Exercise Option for WR Toney for 2025
The Kansas City Chiefs declined to exercise the fifth-year option on wide receiver Kadarius Toney’s contract for the 2025 season, giving him one more season on his deal. Despite injuries and disappointing performance in 2023, the Chiefs still believe in Toney’s potential. He had surgery and missed most of training camp, and struggled throughout the season with injuries and on-field mistakes. The team is counting on Toney for big production in the upcoming season, alongside new additions Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy. General manager Brett Veach and coach Andy Reid remain optimistic that Toney can succeed if he stays healthy.
