Kenny Pickett’s desire to leave Steelers and Russell Wilson
The Pittsburgh Steelers are trading quarterback and 2022 first-round draft pick Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles after veteran Russell Wilson agreed to join the Steelers as the starting quarterback. Wilson mentioned that he texted Pickett and discussed making the team better together. Pickett lost his starting job in December due to injury and now becomes Jalen Hurts’ backup in Philadelphia. The Steelers are now rumored to be pursuing Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears are expected to part ways with Fields to make way for USC quarterback Caleb Williams in the draft. Pittsburgh may be able to acquire Fields for a day-three draft pick.
