Troy Aikman, Esteemed Cowboy Icon, Unveils Nearly Returning from Retirement to Join AFC Team in 2003
In a recent interview, Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman revealed that he nearly came out of retirement in 2003 to join the Miami Dolphins. Aikman had trained that offseason and was prepared to come back and play, but ultimately the Dolphins decided not to sign him. Aikman had familiarity with the Dolphins coaching staff, particularly Norv Turner, who was his offensive coordinator in Dallas when they won Super Bowls. Miami finished the season with a 10-6 record but missed the playoffs. Aikman, who is now a color analyst for “Monday Night Football,” is glad the comeback never happened.
