Raiders Not Likely to Bench Kirk Cousins for Fernando Mendoza Until December, Reports Suggest
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak plans to keep veteran QB Kirk Cousins as the starter over rookie Fernando Mendoza, believing Cousins offers the best chance for a playoff push. The organization, including part-owner Tom Brady, prioritizes Mendoza’s development, suggesting he won’t start until after the Week 13 bye. The Raiders aim to improve their struggling running game and defense before making the switch to Mendoza. Currently at 3-4, they face the 2-5 New York Jets, and the focus remains on ensuring the right environment for Mendoza when the time comes.
