Jets’ David Bailey Exceeds Expectations in His Rookie Season
The New York Jets made a significant choice by selecting defensive end David Bailey with the No. 2 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. An All-American at Texas Tech with 29 collegiate sacks, including 14.5 in his senior year, Bailey has exceeded expectations in the NFL. After five weeks, he boasts 17 tackles, five sacks (leading all rookies), a forced fumble, and a pass defended. In a recent game against the Cleveland Browns, he recorded nine pressures, tying a rookie record. Bailey’s performance has been pivotal in establishing the Jets’ defense as one of the best this season.
