Giants Release WR Darius Slayton, Their Longest-Serving Player
The New York Giants released wide receiver Darius Slayton, their longest-tenured player, on Monday. Slayton, a fifth-round draft pick in 2018, recorded 296 catches for 4,435 yards and 22 touchdowns over seven seasons. Despite signing a three-year, $36 million contract last year, he struggled to fit into the new offense under coach John Harbaugh and faced competition from new acquisitions, including Darnell Mooney and Odell Beckham Jr. With a significant salary, the Giants found it challenging to trade him. Slayton expressed gratitude for his time in New York and is now a free agent, free to sign with other teams.
