Tony Romo’s CBS Career Faces Challenges Following Arrest
Tony Romo is on a leave of absence from CBS Sports following his recent arrest in Wisconsin for suspected intoxicated driving. CBS confirmed that his return is uncertain, especially with the 2026 NFL season approaching. Romo received three citations, including operating while intoxicated. He was stopped after unsafe driving and allegedly found with an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle. Despite telling authorities he hadn’t consumed alcohol, he refused breath and chemical tests. Romo, who has been CBS’s lead NFL analyst since 2017, will be temporarily replaced by JJ Watt. He is set to appear in court on Sept. 21.
