Tony Romo Takes Leave from CBS Sports Following OWI Arrest in Wisconsin
Tony Romo has been placed on leave from his role as CBS’ lead NFL analyst following his arrest on July 23 for suspected DUI. CBS Sports announced that Romo would be on leave “until further notice,” with JJ Watt stepping in alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson during this period. Romo was stopped while driving in Wisconsin, failing field sobriety tests, and was found with an open bottle in his vehicle. His court date is scheduled for September 21. Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, has been with CBS since 2017. CBS will announce game assignments in the coming weeks.
