Kyle Shanahan Involved in Car Accident: 49ers Coach to Start Training Camp in Limited Capacity
The San Francisco 49ers report to training camp while head coach Kyle Shanahan recovers from a car accident that left him with non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken nose, three ribs, and a concussion. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster will assume most coaching responsibilities during Shanahan’s limited participation. General manager John Lynch states he doesn’t anticipate Shanahan missing Week 1 of the regular season. The accident occurred on July 14, with no injuries to the other driver and no involvement of drugs or alcohol.
