Drake London’s $141M Extension: An Overpayment Yet a Strategic Long-Term Move for the Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons secured their future with wide receiver Drake London, signing him to a four-year, $141M extension, which includes $100M guaranteed. This deal makes him the third-highest-paid receiver in the NFL, trailing Ja’Marr Chase and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. While London hasn’t made a Pro Bowl in his four seasons, the extension is a strategic move for the Falcons. It solidifies their receiving corps and should support current quarterbacks like Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr., as well as any future QB. London, drafted eighth overall in 2022, has played with six different quarterbacks so far.
