Giants Sign Veteran DT DJ Reader to Two-Year Contract
The New York Giants have signed defensive tackle DJ Reader to a two-year, $12.5 million contract, potentially worth $15.5 million with incentives. This signing follows the trade of standout lineman Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals for the 10th overall draft pick. Reader, 31, previously played for the Detroit Lions and has a strong track record, leading the NFL with a 71.7% double-team rate last year. In addition to Reader, the Giants recently added veterans Shelby Harris and Leki Fotu, aiming to bolster their defensive line to improve a run defense that struggled last season.
