Cowboys News: Dallas Kicks Off Rookie Minicamp
Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer emphasized the importance of discussing key draft picks Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence, leading to their selections at Nos. 11 and 23 in last week’s NFL draft. Five of the Cowboys’ seven draft picks focused on defense, echoing their heavy defensive emphasis in the 2021 draft. After struggling in 2024 with high yards and points allowed, the team sought improvements through free agency, signing safeties, cornerbacks, and defensive linemen.
