Patriots Acquire Fifth-Round Cornerback Karon Prunty
The New England Patriots have signed fifth-round cornerback Karon Prunty to a four-year rookie contract. Selected 171st overall, Prunty had a pre-draft visit with the team and showcased his speed with a 4.45-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He played for Kansas, North Carolina A&T, and finished at Wake Forest, where he recorded 40 tackles, one sack, one interception, eight passes defensed, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery while starting all 13 games in 2025. Prunty will join a cornerback group that includes Christian Gonzalez and others.
