Steelers Choose Max Iheanachor with 21st Pick in NFL Draft
During the NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected offensive tackle Max Iheanachor from Arizona State with the 21st pick, announced by former player Jerome Bettis. This is the Steelers’ third offensive tackle pick in four years, following Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu. General manager Omar Khan cited concerns over Jones’ recovery from injury as a reason for the draft choice. Although Iheanachor hadn’t been previously scouted extensively by the team, his performance at the Senior Bowl impressed coaches. Khan and head coach Mike McCarthy emphasized his position flexibility and potential for growth, given his limited football experience.
