49ers’ Brock Purdy returning to practice, ‘chance’ he plays in home opener against Cardinals

Brock Purdy of the 49ers to Resume Practice with Possibility of Playing in Home Opener Against Cardinals

Brock Purdy is back at 49ers practice after missing time with a toe injury, with a chance to play in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned the possibility of Purdy serving as a backup if Mac Jones starts again. Purdy had played through injuries in the season opener but had to sit out the last game. Several other players are not practicing due to various injuries, including Trent Williams and Nick Bosa. Despite not playing, Purdy praised Jones’ performance in the previous game.
