Brandon Aiyuk’s return is uncertain and could happen in Week 5 or Week 10, but not in Week 1 according to Kyle Shanahan.
The San Francisco 49ers are unsure when wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will return from a knee injury, but head coach Kyle Shanahan is eyeing a potential Week Six return for him, as well as quarterback Kurtis Rourke and safety Malik Mustapha who are also recovering from knee injuries. Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL last season and if he returns in Week Six against the Buccaneers on October 12, he would have missed nearly a full year. The 27-year-old Aiyuk was a standout wide receiver in 2023 but his production declined in 2024 before his injury. The 49ers are hopeful for a 2023-like performance from Aiyuk in 2025.
