Salvon Ahmed injury update: Hip-drop tackle in practice sidelines Colts RB for 2025 season, per report

Report: Colts RB Salvon Ahmed sidelined for 2025 season due to hip-drop tackle injury in practice

Indianapolis Colts running back Salvon Ahmed will miss the entire 2025 season due to an ankle injury sustained in practice from a banned hip-drop tackle. The team is now signing former Dolphins running back Nate Noel to compete for a backup spot. Coach Shane Steichen emphasized the importance of creating an edge and toughness in training camp, including live tackling periods. Ahmed had signed with the Colts in 2024 after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. With Ahmed out, Noel, along with other running backs, will be vying for a backup position behind Jonathan Taylor.
