Jim Harbaugh Joins New Legal Action Against Former Michigan Assistant
A new lawsuit names former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh as a defendant for allowing former assistant coach Matt Weiss to continue coaching during the 2022-23 College Football Playoff despite knowing about Weiss’ alleged computer crimes. The suit alleges that Weiss illegally viewed personal information of female college athletes. Harbaugh, along with former Michigan president Santa Ono and athletic director Warde Manuel, are accused of being aware of Weiss’ wrongdoing but not taking action. Weiss was placed on leave in January 2023 for computer access crimes and later fired. He is facing federal charges for allegedly accessing personal data and downloading intimate personal content of female student-athletes.
