Saquon Barkley had a historic season in NFL history by rushing for 2,504 yards, setting a record for the most rushing yards in a season ever. However, history shows that repeating a 2,000-yard season is difficult, with most players experiencing a drop in production the following year. While Derrick Henry came close to reaching 2,000 yards again, none of the eight players who reached that milestone have accomplished it again. With Barkley at 27 years old, age and injury could be factors in his pursuit of another 2,000-yard season, especially considering his high number of carries in 2024.
