Rare for No. 1 Overall QB Cam Ward to Not Be Scheduled for Primetime Game
The Tennessee Titans selected quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick but are one of only three teams without a primetime game. NFL Vice President Mike North stated that teams must play their way into primetime, not draft picks. The Titans have the opportunity to earn a national television slot in upcoming games against San Francisco and Kansas City. While past No. 1 picks like Bryce Young and Caleb Williams had primetime games as rookies, some, like Myles Garrett and Cam Newton, did not. The Titans will have to prove themselves on the field to earn a primetime slot.
