Historic rookie deal signed by second-round pick in 2025 NFL Draft
The Houston Texans have made NFL history by signing wide receiver Jayden Higgins to a fully guaranteed four-year, $11.7 million contract, making him the first second-round pick to have such a deal in NFL history. Higgins was selected with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after an impressive collegiate career at Iowa State. In addition to Higgins, the Texans’ 2025 draft class includes other notable players like offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery and cornerback Jaylin Smith. The team also has another wide receiver from Iowa State, Jaylin Noel, on the roster.
