Several NFL draft prospects, including running back Ashton Jeanty, received prank calls after the 2025 draft. Jeanty was told he had been traded to the Dallas Cowboys immediately after being selected by the Las Vegas Raiders, but he recognized it as fake news. Other prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Abdul Carter also fell victim to prank calls before being officially selected. The prankster who posed as New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis was identified as the son of an Atlanta Falcons coach, resulting in fines. Despite the prank, the Cowboys missed out on drafting Jeanty but selected Tyler Booker and Jaydon Blue instead.
