Jackson-Earnhardt Jr. settle trademark dispute
Jamison Hensley, a reporter for ESPN covering the Baltimore Ravens, won the Maryland Sportswriter of the Year in 2018 and wrote a book about the Ravens. Recently, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. resolved a trademark dispute with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson over the use of the No. 8 logo. Jackson had filed an opposition claim with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to stop Earnhardt from using a stylized version of No. 8 on merchandise. The dispute has since been settled, with Earnhardt announcing on social media that he has secured the right to use the logo. This isn’t the first time Jackson has been involved in a trademark dispute over the number 8.
