Jordan Petaia, former Australia rugby player, joins Los Angeles Chargers in NFL
Former Australia rugby player Jordan Petaia, 25, has signed with the NFL team Los Angeles Chargers through the International Player Pathway program. Petaia, who played 31 Tests for the Wallabies, trained at the IMG Academy in Florida for 10 weeks before making the transition from rugby to American football. He will be working with tight ends coach Andy Bischoff and the team’s other tight ends. Petaia retired from rugby in December after playing for the Queensland Reds in Super Rugby for six years. His move to the NFL marks a new chapter in his athletic career.
