Damar Hamlin extends contract with Bills, expresses desire to remain in Buffalo for entirety of career
Damar Hamlin, a safety for the Buffalo Bills, signed a one-year contract to remain with the team after completing his rookie contract. Despite interest from other teams during free agency, Hamlin wanted to continue playing for the Bills, the team that drafted him in 2021. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue his career after a health scare in January 2023 when he went into cardiac arrest on the field. Hamlin had a successful season in 2022 with 89 tackles, two interceptions, and contributions in various defensive categories. He has also been involved in initiatives to provide cardiac emergency response training and equipment outside of football.
