Veteran RB set to re-sign with Chiefs
Kareem Hunt has re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year deal worth $1.5M with the potential to earn an additional $1M in incentives. He returned to the team in 2024 after a five-year stint with the Cleveland Browns and had a successful season, rushing for 728 yards and seven touchdowns. Isiah Pacheco’s injury opened the door for Hunt’s signing. The Chiefs also signed Elijah Mitchell for depth at the running back position. The team may still pursue a running back in the upcoming draft due to all their top backs becoming free agents in 2026. Regardless, Hunt will compete for playing time in 2025.
